Dr. David Nystrom is Professor of New Testament at Western Seminary, Sacramento. David was Provost and Senior Vice President at Biola University from 2010-2015, after having served as Vice President for Academic Affairs at William Jessup University for four years. Prior to that he served twelve plus years at North Park University and North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago, where he was (at various times) professor and chair of the department of biblical and theological studies, director of the Institute for Christian Studies, and Professor of New Testament Language and Literature. He has also taught in an adjunct capacity at both Fuller Theological Seminary and Western Seminary. David holds a BA from the University of California at Davis, a M.Div. from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. from the University of California at Davis. A specialist in both Roman social history and New Testament Theology, David is the author of five books and numerous articles in the fields of New Testament, Church history and Roman history. He has been a pastor and a consultant to churches and church planting organizations.
